Lakkundi is a small hamlet, at a distance of 11 km from Gadag, next to NH-63 towards Hospet(Hampi). The place is famous for numerous architecturally rich temples constructed during the era of Chalukyas of Kalyani and Hoysalas. Last weekend, when I was in Gadag for a family function, took some time off to visit this place.

Valentines day is around the corner ! Many people across the globe would already be bothering what to present as a gift to their valentine and people who don't have a valentine would be dejected by a having a continuous daemon running in their mind "Yet another V-day without a V". However, the members of Bangalore Photowalk group were involved in a better business last weekend. They selected their valentine to be world's largest collaborative encyclopedia i.e. by involving in second edition of Bangalore Loves Wikipedia event, an initiative which was kick-started only last month.Darter: Photography workshop at Hampi

Hampi was in my to-visit list for a long time. But for set of collective reasons the trip to one of famous destinations of Karnataka could not materialize for a long time. However, sometime in mid of Dec-2010, renowned travel blogger cum photographer Arun Bhat announced his inaugural photography workshop at Hampi. Well, no prizes for guessing that I decided to take the plunge without any second thoughts. A perfect way to break my jinx w.r.t Hampi.
