Khuri and Badal Guest House

"There’s nothing much to see in Khuri, one can just have a camel ride and witness sunset being in sand dunes. Adventurous people can do an overnight stay in sand dunes." - a humble reply from the owner of lonely plant recommended guest house - Badal Singh while answering to my query about places-to-see in Khuri. I was literally taken aback by his down-to-earth nature and the courteous caller tune Ghar Me Padharo Gajanadji was an addition to it.

Golden City: Jaisalmer

After the exploration of Pink City Jaipur the next place on our Rajasthan trip itinerary was the golden city Jaisalmer. There was a slight struggle while collecting grassroot level information about the place. Many of my batchmates in PGPM who were native of Rajasthan had a little idea about the city as it’s quite remote from other parts of Rajasthan and also it’s unfeasible travel there for major part of a year. The only proper source was Arun’s India travel blog and the reference of Badal Singh(Khuri).

Tripline: Sikkim Trip Report

Today morning while going through Forbes India magazine, I accidentally dropped on a write-up Next Generation Startups. The very first company in the list was Tripline.net, an online web service where one can narrate a story about a travel by putting the locations on a map, with animated lines, timelines and pictures.

I was desperatly looking for this kind of service using which I can interactively narrate my Sikkim trip experiences in a brief manner. Please find my self composed Sikkim story embedded above.

Sikkim Trip: Summary & Retrospect

We the group of six people(myself, Jatin, Ravi, Jay, Deb, Harish) made the most of back-to-back long weekends in Oct-Nov 2010 and explored one of picturesque states in India. Thanks a ton to Jatin for taking up the initiative of planning the trip and getting people on board, without his enthusiasm the trip would not have materialized.
